Blake and his team did a wonderful job of replacing our back deck. Blake is a hands-on contractor, and was on-site working with his crew every day. They were great to work with, including talking through issues that inevitably came up with a big project like ours. We wanted our same multi-level deck rebuilt, replacing the rotting redwood with composite decking and metal railing. We also wanted to replace the pergola with a solid roof. Other deck builders and companies would not even bid on the project because of the benches, the new roofline, and other details. Blake worked with us to figure out how to do it with new materials and building codes. The result is just what we wanted.

Blake did a beautiful, meticulous job replacing our 30-year-old front and back decks. (See the before and after pictures, and check out the little fillers that cover the screws in the flooring.) The upper floor back deck was fairly straightforward, except he added a liner underneath the decking that channels rainwater away. So no more wet cushions on the patio underneath! Love that. The front deck required tearing down big ugly columns that supported the roof over the entry--without disturbing the roof. He also extended the deck and set the stairs out a bit so the whole front deck looks, feels and is bigger and more gracious. Blake did much of the design in close consultation with us, and got the permits. He was an excellent communicator. When a problem arose (they always do when you poke an old house) he fixed it and charged an extremely fair price for doing so. We are absolutely thrilled with our new decks and recommend Blake without reservation!
